I don't know about you guys, but the Met Gala -- the annual fete where fashion's finest come dressed to the nines -- is the best way to become apathetic about priorities, at least for a few hours, that us mere mortals usually face. It's also another chance for me to opine about couture like I actually know what I'm talking about (but I kind of do, right?). Thanks to the exhibit Schiaparelli and Prada: Impossible Conversations, glamazons left me daydreaming with my jaw on the floor.

From pretty peplums (Emma Roberts, Solange Knowles, Sofia Vergara) to feather-detailed frocks (Beyonce, Kate Bosworth, Cate Blanchett) the red carpet was brimming with look-at-me statements. Of course, there were sparkly numbers aplenty: Karolina K, Lana del Rey, Giselle, Carey Mulligan + more.

Also noted: backless dresses (Rihanna, Cameron Diaz, Kate, + much more!) and dark bold wine-hued lips (Lana del Rey! Camilla Belle! Kate Bosworth!). I have to say that one of my swoon-worthy picks of the evening go to Camilla Belle--the 20's-inspired makeup, the shimmery dress #elegant. Also, can we discuss the ombre black to purple feather Beyonce was cascading in? Givenchy is synonymous with genius. Speaking of Givenchy... Rooney Mara also killed it in the black haute coture gown. And about that glamourous Cartier necklace January Jones wore with overall avant-garde Versace gown? Stunning. Before I carry on with the homework that is staring at me right now, I want to applaud Lily Collins for wearing that delicate Valentino dress. I love a young starlet who doesn't need to show off her skin/body to get attention--that's what you call classy. If I had to pick a dress to personally wear from this batch, that would probably be one of my top choices. Cheers to next year's Met Ball.

The day Adam Levine signed my arm. woo

disclaimer: this is a non-fashion post & includes a documentation of my teeny-bopper demeanor, a cliche, and several swoons and sighs. You have been warned.

As if my twitter rants were not enough to satiate my Adam appetite, I decided to post on one last social media platform before my heart, nay, STEREO explodes. #becausegoodmusiccanbesohardtofind

This past Tuesday my friend and I (Hi Xtina!) attended The Voice where we found ourselves amidst clamorous + fiesty Adam fanatics (I'm so normal compared to them--promise!) entreating with all kinds of requests (again, I say this-- they were probably fanning their lady-parts while staring at Adam). What was pretty cool was being asked to jump up and down en masse (read: bust a bunch of Moves Like Jagger) during the live taping of musical performances and guests by The Wanted & Justin Bieber (side note: imagine how annoying I'd be if I were a "Belieber"/ Justin Biebs fan). Oh, and being front row in the pit, conveniently a few feet away from Adam's red chair & gorgeous face was perfecto. After the solidarity of making friends while waiting in anticipation, (Hi Keisha!) we went on to the concerted game plan: Getting Levine to sign my cast!

After several requests --  thanks to the consistence of Christina and Keisha  -- Adam acceded to meet my simple wish with a concise signature and heart. And so, that ink on my cast is now a capstone of my injured wrist. (humble-brag alert: he didn't give his autograph to any one else. And yes, I realize he'd look like an ass if he didn't sign a cast, but just let me BEEEEEE!)

SOOOOO... moral of the story:

Just shoot for the stars
If it feels riiiiiiiight
Then aim for my heart
If you feel liiiiike

Oh, and something good (Adam's autograph) can come out of bad (cast). #cliche #SWOON #SIGH

Now let's see if I can get him to Retweet me on Twitter (uh-oh). #TeamAdam
